Guitarist John Sund has over a longer period of time worked with many indian musicians and last year he was introduced to the fantastic carnatic flautist J. A. Jayant. This has resulted in a upcoming album release and they also managed to to add their very first concert into the schedule. All this will happen when Jayant and his eminent mridangam player will be coming to Denmark in October. This is a collaboration that will bring you a union of musicians/cultures with brand new compositions taylormade for this occasion and for future collaborations, with this new trio.

On the opening night of Copenhagen Jazz Festival 2022, Musikhuset hosts a WORLD jazz concert. Exploring the exotic aspects of jazz, three bands span 5 countries of four regions of the world, all offering intriguing meetings between such varying music cultures as Flamenco, Arabic, Indian, Kurdish and Nordic. Shri SHUBHAM SARKAR is an internationally acclaimed violinist from Delhi and one of the biggest young and upcoming names in Hindustani classical music. He and tabla-maestro Pradip Kumar Sarkar are touring Denmark and Scandinavia and successfully promoting Indian culture and classical music. Violinisten Shubham Sarkar er et af de største nye unge navne i Indien. Han er søn af tabla-maestro Pradip Kumar Sarkar. Det er klassisk indisk musik på højeste niveau der ved denne koncert møder den danske guitarvirtuos John Sund. Brorsons Kirke har tidligere haft fokus på indisk musik med Lars Møllers Ragajazz hvor han sidste år samarbejdede med med Kala Ramnath (violin) og Abhijit Banerjee (tablas). Great Danes Big Band spiller Lars Togeby´s Creme Fraiche-musik. Great Danes Big Band genopfører de legendariske Lars Togeby Creme Fraiche Big Band numre fra 1978 sammen med Jan Zum Vohrde, altsax/fløjte, John Sund, guitar, Flemming Agerskov, trompet og Aage Tanggaard, trommer.
